Dr.-Ing. Gernot Hochleitner
Gernot Hochleitner completed his Master's degree in "New Materials, Nano and Production Technology" at Nuremberg Institute of Technology in 2012. He then completed his doctorate at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Würzburg in the field of additive manufacturing. The focus here was on process research with biodegradable thermoplastics and the creation of biomimetic structures for tissue engineering research approaches. From 2017 to 2023, Gernot Hochleitner worked as a development engineer and Head of Process Development at Covestro Thermoplast Composite GmbH in the field of continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites. In 2023, he took over the management of the thermal joining technologies research group at SKZ and has been working on welding processes and related processes such as direct joining ever since.
