After his first job as a development engineer for electronic brake systems, he also studied automotive engineering at the University of Leeds in the UK (1999 to 2000). He then became a research assistant at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, where he completed his doctorate in 2005 in the field of dynamic simulation of rolling bearings. After working as a calculation engineer for fatigue strength methods at Mercedes-Benz Cars, he initially took over the management of complete vehicle testing for fatigue strength at Daimler Trucks in 2008 and then moved to Mercedes-Benz do Brasil as Head of Vehicle Efficiency in 2015. Since 2018, he has headed the Chair of Design in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at the RPTU in Kaiserslautern, where, in addition to vehicle-specific topics, he is particularly dedicated to research in the field of design and fatigue strength of additively manufactured metallic components.
