Characteristic weld values for the designing of high-temperature-resistant thermoplastic components with optimised service lives
Authors: M. Sc. Sascha Vogtschmidt, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Schöppner
Because of their thermal and mechanical properties, high-temperature- resistant thermoplastics are being utilised to an increasing extent. However, the welding of components made of high-temperature thermoplastics often constitutes a challenge. For this reason, the welding behaviour of these plastics was considered in greater detail within the framework of the investigations presented here in order to identify the best possible process parameters, , to analyse the short-time and
long-time behaviour of the welds and to develop a service life model for the designing of welds consisting of high temperature-resistant thermoplastics.
